One of the toughest ocean swim I experienced. We took off from Playa San Juan: Ryszard Majewski, Jose, Miquel, Pablo and Luis swimming. In the kayaks were Pablo and Gerardo.Knowing that the sea conditions were on orange alert we took off. 10min into the sea swimming we were doubting to continue as the conditions along the horizon didnt seem too attractive. We continued with a good pace. Halfway to our destination things started to get complicated, strong winds and currents. After 6km and 1hr and 24m a sudden storm hit us, 4m waves and 1km from our destination we decided each one had to get out asap. We saw a small exist point with stairs, swimming against the current and in a panicking mood, it took us 20m to get out as the waves were hitting the rocks at an incredible force. The two kayaks in the process were not to be seen as they searched for a landing area 50m from where we were. Both lost their oars and also entered with complications. Due to our fitness levels and experience we all arrived safely and nobody was injured.
